This month the Riding Clubs National Championships are being held at Lincoln. We have qualified six teams, and as you have probably realised a flurry of fund raising events have been organised by the team members.
There have already been a successful Dog Show, an evening Show Jumping, and an evening Gymkhana. On Saturday 10th September, there will be a Combined Training at Bake, near Trerulefoot, entries to Kim Crocker, Orchard Park, Pillaton, Saltash, PL12 6QY (07964255572)
The next day, Sunday 11th, is the Pleasure Ride, also at Bake. This is always an enjoyable event and I hope to see lots of you there. More details from Tracey Bond (07976 0669250.
The final event of our Summer Season is the Camp at Stockland Lovell. If there is anyone who wants to go and has not yet booked, please contact Caroline at email@example.com asap.
One event this year which received no interest at all, was the Introduction to Dressage Evening. This was a pity, because we want to encourage members to try all our events, and some knowledge of, for example, the tack you are allowed to use for the test you are riding can only be helpful for you. It is not the Judge’s job to tell you that the bit guard/martingale/bandages your horse is wearing are not allowed. In order to help with this, it is intended that dressage events in future programmes will have a link on them to connect you to the Official Rule Book where you can find an Appendix (no.6 in the current rule book) which is a table setting out very briefly what is and is not permitted.
Finally a plea for information. The Club owns a loudspeaker system, part of which has now vanished. We have the power box and microphone, but the speakers, their stand, and the connecting cable is not with them. Does anyone have any idea where they are? It can make an event so much more interesting if results can be announced, classes called, or a commentary given.
