BRC Update on Rule of Six and Riding Club Activities – September 2020

Dear Members,

Good news!

Here is the response from BRC in relation to the recent government directive re numbers allowed in a gathering

SportEngland have received confirmation from government that the new “rule of six” in England does not apply to organized sport and leisure activities. Riding clubs can continue with their usual activities providing all Covid protocols are strictly adhered to.

“We have sought clarity on what the latest update means for sport and physical activity, and while social gatherings of more than six people will be banned in England from 14 September, the government has confirmed that organised sports and activities that have been through return to play protocols can continue, as can organised outdoor sports and physical activity events.” – sportengland

Riding Clubs are able to continue to operate as usual although social activities e.g. barbecues for more than six people are not permitted.

It is vital that all clubs continue to follow the Covid safety protocols which can be found here – [https://www.bhs.org.uk/advice-and-information/coronavirus-covid-19/risk-assessment](https://www.bhs.org.uk/advice-and-information/coronavirus-covid-19/risk-assessment?fbclid=IwAR01ne-tKg9OM-QGxEdbUcMe3G7rR0y68MS9riOMbIbFZ_LlkhOCOSCKyWg)
