Be safe on your horse this winter!
Enjoy your riding over the holidays but with the very short days, our narrow lanes and lots of holiday traffic PLEASE make sure you do all you can to be seen – and wear your HI VIZ!
Remember: Hi Viz will give a driver another THREE SECONDS to react. Enough time to save your horse’s life. Happy holiday riding!
MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM EAST CORNWALL RIDING CLUB
ECRC would like to extend a warm welcome to all our current and new members of ECRC.
Well, it’s that time of year when we can reflect back on our own personal achievements positive and negative. Senior and Junior Members have competed at most of the Qualifiers that BRC Area 19 have run throughout 2016/17, gaining many individual and team placings. We have even sent members to a few of the BRC Championships.
The most memorable for me was the Jr Winter Novice SJ Qualifier held in November. We had four junior ECRC teams jump off against each other for team placings, nail biting was an understatement.
As a club we have listened to our members and have introduced a programme of winter training clinics, which follows on from the summer clinics.
We also held evening dressage & MMM events, both allowed members to gain points which go towards the AGM awards. Got to be in it to win it!
We have also had a shuffle around of the committee members, one being a sad farewell of our outgoing chairwoman Sheila Strange. Committee member and roles will be updated on the main web site.
Exciting times ahead for 2018
We are hosting a ‘Mary King’ clinic at the end of January, which sold out within 24hrs of being advertised. Tickets £5, are available on the day to come and watch.
If there is anything that you, the members feel we should be doing
in 2018 or if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask me or any committee member.
I look forward to seeing you all out competing and setting your own personal goals for 2018. Don’t forget to renew your membership for 2018, especially if you wish to represent ECRC at the early qualifiers.
So that just leaves me to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Cynthia Robinson
ECRC Chairwoman
